Inspired by the quiet confidence of simply being, White Among Evergreens reflects the beauty of standing fully in who you are. Set against a misty forest of deep greens, the white horse does not try to blend in or soften its presence—it exists just as it is, calm, grounded, and unapologetically visible. There is a gentle strength in that stillness, a reminder that authenticity does not need permission.

This piece speaks to the courage it takes to stand apart without resistance or doubt. With soft, atmospheric brushwork and muted natural tones, the surrounding forest fades into a quiet backdrop, allowing the subject to shine with quiet clarity. It reminds us that standing out is not something to fear—it is often where our truest self is found.

From the Evidence of Being Alive Series

Inspired by the quiet strength of the wilderness, this painting captures a moment suspended between stillness and movement. A lone black bear stands watch along a forested ridge, overlooking rolling green valleys, a cascading waterfall, and a mountain glowing with layered color in the distance. It evokes early morning hikes, the hush of pine trees in the wind, and the grounding reminder that we are small in the best possible way.

Painted on stretched canvas, this piece carries a sense of protection, wonder, and reverence for the wild. The saturated greens and expressive mountain tones create depth and emotion, while the flowing waterfall draws the eye into a rhythm of calm and renewal.

Saturated color and confident brushwork give the landscape vitality, inviting the viewer to step into the scene and breathe more deeply.

Tiger in Bloom explores presence, strength, and the quiet tension between wildness and beauty. Surrounded by dense foliage and blooming flowers, the tiger holds steady at the center of the composition—calm, aware, and fully grounded within its environment.

The painting leans into contrast, pairing bold orange and deep black with rich greens and saturated florals. This balance creates both intensity and harmony, allowing the tiger to stand out while still feeling deeply connected to the space around it.

Layered brushwork and intentional color choices give the piece a sense of depth and immediacy. There’s a stillness in the tiger’s gaze, but also a quiet energy—something watchful and alive beneath the surface.

Tiger in Bloom reflects the coexistence of strength and softness, offering a moment that feels both powerful and composed.

Moraine Park Heartwood Elk is inspired by the elk and forests of Rocky Mountain National Park. Tree-filled antlers grow from the elk’s crown, symbolizing strength, growth, and the connection between wildlife and the natural world.

Vibrant colors and flowing shapes bring energy to the piece while highlighting the quiet majesty of the elk. The hand-dyed silk creates soft color transitions that add movement and depth, making the artwork feel both bold and peaceful.

Before the Echo Fades reflects a powerful moment I have personally witnessed here in Estes Park, CO—an elk mid-call, its presence felt even beyond the sound itself. The painting leans into voice and strength, capturing that in-between moment where movement, sound, and presence all meet. Rather than focusing on detail alone, the painting holds onto feeling; offering a glimpse of the kind of echo that lingers long after the moment has passed. It serves to remind people to be unapologetically vocal, take up space, and be yourself.
