Too Pretty to Bite plays with flirtiness, youth, and the kind of beauty that feels a little too fun to take seriously. Centered on a single apple, the painting leans into rich reds and glowing highlights, giving the fruit a sense of charm and personality. I intended to capture that feeling of being young, vibrant, and just a little irresistible.

A bull elk pauses mid-day to cool off, standing quietly in the rippling blues of Mary Lake. “Savoring a Swim” captures that rare in-between moment—when the world slows, the water shimmers, and even the wild pauses to breathe.

Painted in expressive, layered brushstrokes, this 5-inch round original invites you to linger. The movement of the water contrasts with the stillness of the elk, creating a sense of calm, presence, and quiet wonder. A tiny window into Estes Park—perfect for collectors who love nature, storytelling, and art that feels like a memory.

Inspired by the shared enthusiasm surrounding Palisade peaches, this painting reflects how connection can form through small, everyday encounters. While at the General Store in Glen Haven, I witnessed strangers—locals and travelers alike—bond over recommendations, stories, and a collective love for something sweet and seasonal. Those brief exchanges eventually led to a moment of discovery.

Painted from memory during the off-season, this piece holds the warmth of those fleeting connections and the quiet longing that follows when a season has passed.

Saturated color and fluid watercolor movement give the work immediacy, inviting the viewer into a shared moment of presence and pause.

Apple, Washed focuses on clarity, freshness, and the quiet beauty of something familiar. The close-up composition draws attention to the surface of the apple—its color, texture, and the way light settles into each droplet of water.
